SQFMI isn't a scammer, the Crowd Supply company was taking orders even though they were informed there was no stock available. They taking orders was their doing, not SQFMI. If you want to call anyone a scammer, call Mouser/Crowd Supply that. As for the V2 knockoffs, they do come with the newer screen and I don't think they're 1:1 with the original, the battery isn't the same, the PCF8563 at least the one on this one here in front of me, is behaving like my DS3231M (V1).

I've run into this same situation with other suppliers "It's coming dates", only to find months later, "it ISN'T coming, ever". That supplier also has a great reputation, do you think I think the company that made the product is a scammer? No, the supplier was "hoping" to make a sale, eventually.

A company puts an order in for "X" product, they place, based on standard product tracking, a reasonable "arrival" date (I see this crap DAILY), the actual ETA could be months away or never (in a few cases, as in the product was bloody discontinued). I had to wait months on products, so whenever I see an ETA switch more than twice, I go looking for other suppliers that actually DO have stock because I know the ETA I've seen switch more than once, is "hopeful" and not realistic. If people don't understand that, then I can't help them, nobody is scamming in this situation. In every case I had to ASK a person at the supplier to actually CONTACT the manufacturer to find out "is it really coming" and in a few cases it wasn't, ever. So if anyone here sees ANY ETA jump twice, cancel any order, period.

As I stated, Watchy isn't SQFMI's only project, this one is one of the older ones. If this is a 1 person band, that is a ton of work, plus, it won't obviously pay living expenses, so this is a hobby project as are the others.
